Factors such\u00a0asset risk, cost of repair options,\u00a0whether\u00a0the repair will provide sufficient\u00a0additional\u00a0asset life, whether the underlying asset has enough remaining structural integrity to be repaired,\u00a0and\u00a0whether the asset is already scheduled for future replacement will help\u00a0determine\u00a0whether a repair is a good option. Assets that are good candidates for repair have some or\u00a0all\u00a0the following characteristics:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When an asset is repaired, the work is intended to bring an asset back to its previous condition,\u00a0but it is not expected to improve the asset.\u00a0The failed asset is repaired to return it to full functionality. Repairing an existing asset allows the same, familiar,\u00a0asset to continue to perform,\u00a0rather than replacing it with a different asset that\u00a0might\u00a0not be familiar to staff, especially if the material or type of asset are changed in some way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n All asset repair data should be recorded.
