Overview

The water-energy nexus speaks of the link between energy and water. Producing, pumping, treating, heating and cleaning all types of waters takes energy. Energy generation takes water, whether for production of the fuel source, growing the fuel source or removing heat from processes. Therefore, if a system is working in water, they are also working in energy. Energy management can and should be integrated into the asset management planning process.

This portion of the framework will provide guidance on how to integrate energy management into each core component of asset management.
