Vermont has many small systems who are interested in learning about and implem<\/span>enting asset management<\/span>\u00a0to: build resiliency, address decaying infrastructure, solve a problem,\u00a0<\/span>improve<\/span>\u00a0communication and service delivery to customers, and determine the most efficient way to spend their limited dollars.\u00a0 We have been assisting Vermont with\u00a0<\/span>training and technical assistance in asset management for<\/span>\u00a05 years. We provide a performance-based training approach in which\u00a0<\/span>the attendees are taught about the core concepts of asset management during a series of training events. After each training, the attendees are asked to complete an assignment\u00a0<\/span>(an asset management applied activit<\/span>y) so they can try out what they learned in class.\u00a0 At the following class they discuss how the activity went and they are given a chance to discuss any <\/span>questions, successes or\u00a0<\/span>failures<\/span>\u00a0with their peer<\/span>s.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 Also, each system is asked to choose<\/span>\u00a0a\u00a0<\/span>particular concern<\/span>\u00a0they would like to address.
